Title: DLNA Server Not Always Discoverable
Post by: Nicholas T on June 26, 2012, 06:19:02 pm
Hi,

I've been running the MC17 DLNA server and connecting to it via my LG PVR successfully for over a year now.  It's really great!  Thanks for this fantastic feature.

Generally, I don't get connection problems that can't be fixed by a refresh on the LG.  However, just the two weeks the LG can't find the server.  Not always, I'd say 50% of the time.  If I go to my PC and fiddle with Media Network (reset stats, open Options) the LG connects again.  Perhaps a coincidence but I don't think so.  Has anything been updated in the DLNA side of things that might have caused this?

Cheers,
Nicholas

It might be timing related.  Has anything been changed recently on your server or network?

Nothing in the discovery code has changed any time recently. As Jim said, you probably want to look for other changes on your network. New firmware in a router you are both connected to?? Some routers block multicast by default. You might want to make sure windows media sharing is disabled on your PC.
