Title: JRiver on Windows 8
Post by: thomaspf on July 02, 2012, 02:35:07 pm
I recently got an Lenovo A720 all in one machine with a 27" touch screen and installed Win8 and JRiver on it.

While not fully integrated yet, I have been blown away by the experience. Touch control in Theater view is not quite perfect but very usable. Audio library navigation works great, however, it is a bit tedious for a 2600 album collection.

Playing back ripped DVDs and Bluray discs works very naturally.

While I did not think I woud like the touch interface I have to say it is pretty impressive and easy to use on that large form factor screen and having JRiver there made it even more seemless.

Cheers

I'm hoping for a really nice metro mode for J River for use on Win8 tablets (and desktops on Metro). It's a chance to make inroads! (Well, assuming that x86 tablets are at all successful but they might be!).
