Title: Recorded TV playback freezes on forward / rewind
Post by: pauly139 on July 11, 2012, 05:19:38 am
Using 17.0.80. Sometimes when fast forwarding or rewinding recorded TV (jtv) MC freezes up and becomes totally unresponsive. Only way I've found to get it back is bring up task manager and kill the MC application. Upon restarting it will generally play fine.

This seems to happen on random recordings at random places. If I replay the same recording it will not necessarily happen again. So as far as I can tell it does not seem to be related to the recording itself.

This probably happens about 5% of the time when forwarding / rewinding.

Paul.

Any reason why I haven't had the courtesy of a reply from J River on this problem? The freezing continues to be a problem, abd each time it occurs I have to use task manager to shut down MC and shut down the server. It really is a pain.

I don't recognize the problem.  What is the full version of MC?   17.0.180 is on the download page.

Sorry Jim, my mistkae. My current version is 17.0.180. I've had this problem for around 4 months now. Using ROHQ.

Try RO Standard.

Seems ok with RO Std. Perhaps a problem with MadVR? Actually thinking back the problems started around the time I changed a couple of settings in MadVR to reduce the processing load.
