Title: Can't get consistent 1411 bit rate on flac encodes
Post by: Siladem on July 12, 2012, 09:51:32 pm
Hello all

I can't figure out how to get my flac rips to encode at a consistent 1411 bit rate. When i was sampling dbpoweramp, it would rip at that rate. But ripping straight out of jriver results in bit rates varying in a 400 - 800 bps range. what am i doing wrong? Encoder is flac, quality is 8.

Any suggestions?

Vincent Kars has provided a good explanation at The Well-Tempered Computer (http://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.com/KB/BitRate.htm).

ah - this explains alot. looks like I was using uncompressed flac in dbpoweramp.

thanks !
