Title: Is it possible to modify volume up/down commands?
Post by: lockdown571 on August 09, 2012, 08:32:55 pm
So this is a bit out there, but is it possible to modify what the volume up and down commands do within JRiver? The idea I had was to modify them to send IR commands via my USB-UIRT IR blaster to change the volume on my receiver.

You should be able to teach MC's remote control to send those.  Tools/Options/Remote Control/Commands.

I found a post on Interact from 2011 (which I now can't find again) which said that blast commands from a USB-UIRT aren't supported and you have to use JRiver's own blaster. Is that still the case?

If you go to Options/Remote Control/Devices & Options/Select input devices and check USB-UUIRT it should work fine the primary difference is the USB-UIRT has a built in IR emitter and the MC remote uses the little IR blasters. Technically there is no difference.

USB-UIRT is working fine as a receiver, but if I go to set up a command for a blaster, USB-UIRT is not selectable. I also noticed that the JRiver "supported remote control devices" wiki talks about using USB-UIRT as a receiver but not a blaster.

What are you using for a remote?
