Title: If JRiver has found the wrong movei, how to correct it?

If an auto-import has found the wrong instance of a movie (the wrong IMDB entry for example), how do I tell it which version to get or does the metadata have to be changed manually?

Right click the movie and select "Get Movie and TV Info." Choose the correct movie from the results window and then click "Use this data."
