Title: Duplicate tracks made after ripping CDs

I'm getting duplicate tracks after ripping a CD.  When I go to the source folder where the tracks are saved, often times duplicate tracks are created with a (1) next to the duplicated song title.  Why is this happening and how can I fix it?
