Title: [Solved . not caused by MC] MC crashes on Windows 8 Pro RTM

I'm using Windows 8 Pro 64bit RTM. MC crashes after a short time of running. The exact time varies. From a few seconds up to round thirteen minutes. I'm doing nothing. Just wait for the crash. Here is a log:

It seems that it's connected to auto import.

Deactivating auto import to run in background (which I use only for doing analysis and thumbnail creating not for really importing something) results in no crashing. Reactivating brings crashing back again. I again took a look at the logs. It is not always the same file, which is listed last before crashing.

Starting analyzing and thumbnail creation manually doesn't crash MC.

Any news on this issue?
I just installed Windows 8 Pro x64 and I'm in the process of restoring my backups and installing applications.

I would like to know if there is something we can do right now to use Auto Import in Windows 8 without it crashing every now and then.

Try importing a single filetype at a time.  It may turn out to be a problem with WMA, for example. 

It might also be a bug in Win8.

I think you shouldn't be afraid ;) As I am the only one reporting this crash it perhaps is something individual. If Windows8 would cause MC17 regularly when Auto Import is enabled, I'm sure here would be more guys complaining about it.

It was indeed not an MC bug. I had an extrem buggy installation which was causing many strange things in MC and many other programs. Re-installation of Windows 8 solved this! Sorry for making noise...  :-[
