Title: MC Server Question
Post by: locust on September 02, 2012, 04:37:16 pm
I've just recently built a new computer with a ssd and it is very quiet.

I've never noticed this until I built my new computer. When I start my computer my mechanical hard drive sounds like it is being thrashed. So I pulled up the resources monitor and it seemed to me that media server was going through all my media folders. When I closed media server from the system tray the thrashing stopped.

I don't know why, is to check if the files are there?

Is this behavior normal/integral to media server? If media server is checking existence of files could we have an option to make media server just assume they are there without all the reads?

thanks
