Title: Laptop's CD/DVD player as a Transport?
Post by: preproman on September 10, 2012, 06:42:59 am
What's the Pros and Cons of using the cd/dvd player in your laptop as a cd player/transport?

Sometime my NAS goes on the fritz and I have to use my CD play to listen to my music.  Is this optimal or should I get a dedicated CD transport for these duties?

Thanks

The digital bits delivered to the sound device are the same in either case, assuming that your NAS files are lossless or WAV.
