I am using a HTPC System.
Now i tried tagging through a Client Machine.(Very good Feature!) ;)
But:
Settings are all good.Tagging works.
But from time to time when i tag files they won't get synced with the server PC. (Auto Sync enabled)
Tagging one file->After tagging 1-3 Files more i look back to the first file->Tag is empty again.
Not always,but now and then.If i can't trust this method,then this method is not the right one for me.
I've been reading a couple of Threads with similar problems but no solution.
Bug in MC?
Anyone else with this problem,or with a solution??? ?

same issue as well, if i tag on client, then i chose file library sync with server. no idea why it doesnt work all the time. but exp. same problem.

You have to remember to check that you have enabled the authentication under media network. That is required for syncing changes. You have probably done that already. Also remember that you can only sync tags in text format. Not location of the "physical" files or cover art etc. It will just revert back to the servers data at the next client restart. If it's something else, then we might have a problem. Perhaps you could give a bit more info of what's edited and what's not getting synced?

my scenario... when changing tags keywords then move copy field keyword to genre or 5 starring an item, the change is not made on server, and client reverts back to previous tag that was on server. i have to immediately chose file/library/sync changes for each item i tag.

I've had this problem for a while (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=70285.msg473951#msg473951).
BTW, switching to UNC paths to my NAS didn't solve my problem.
Stuck, are your files stored on the HTPC or are you also using a NAS?

Authentication is activated.I know that i can't rename physical filenames or add cover art to the file itself on client.
By the way,would be nice if we could do this!
Tagging itself and autosync basically is working.But every now and then a file won't get synced and revert back like it was before.
Tags i used: Year,Name,Artist,Album,...and a few Custom Tags i have created.
The problem appeared on all tags i used,not only on a specific tag.
Filetype: FLAC
1.HTPC->LAN
2.Laptop->W-Lan
Both Systems->Kaspersky Internet Security->Configured for MC (MC is not blocked by Kaspersky).

I experience the same exact issue on 17.0.186. My scenario is simple: Client and server on same LAN segment, all media hosted locally on Server, Auto sync with Server checked under Media Network options on the Client. Client tag changes are only persisted to the Server when I manually Sync Changes with Library Server. However, I noticed that play count updates are automatically persisted to the Server. The tag changes in question are stock ID3 tag changes such as Genre.

On my Client<->Server Machines Autosync is working,but not always.That's strange.
This MUST be a Bug in MC17.Please fix this MC Team.
Installed Build 17.0.186.Problem is still there.
This would be ++++1 Feature,but only if i can trust this method!
