Title: Removing tags from one drive and only using tags for second drive, both connecte
Post by: bulldogger on September 13, 2012, 06:24:48 pm
I have two drives both connected, K and L. I have moved all of my music to the L drive and don't want to use the tags for the K drive. The K is still connected with a duplicate of the files in L as a back-up but I don't want the duplicates. I changed my auto import to only look at the L drive.

Search for:

  [Filename]=[K:"

in the Search area.  That should show you the list of files on the K drive.  Select them, and hit the Delete key to remove from the database.  Read the choices carefully - only remove from the database if that's what you want (this leaves your files alone).

I found this interesting, but I got it to work using the search wizard with

Filename (path) starts with k:\

I could not get it to show any files otherwise....

I'd written "Search wizard", but meant "Search area" (corrected above).   You can copy/paste the query directly into the Search area/box.  Since [Filename (path)] is just the path portion of [Filename], either field will work in this case.

You can see how the Wizard translates the pull-down friendly query terms into MC search query terms via the Import/Export button.
