Title: Microsoft Surface RT or Windows 8?
Post by: N0z1f on September 14, 2012, 05:38:09 am
Hi

I have resisted the 'Apple' temptaion for a few years now as they don't seem to work well with MC, among other proprietary reasons.

MC is my most used application I have had it since MJ6. I love it!

With the launch of Microsoft's Surface imminent I am ready to enter into the Tablet world.

Do you guys have any plans to support RT? I have read in another post MC will run on W8.

Barry

It should run fine on Windows 8, but you'll have a huge problem with the RT version. It would need a lot of work to work on that platform I think. Hopefully we can get some DLNA apps and perhaps a type of Tremote or lightweight client for the platform one day?

Thanks

Windows 8 version it is then.

No MC compatibility - No buy!

Just a thought....

Would the RT version be able to connect to my MC Library server via Gizmo/WebGizmo?

Gizmo, no. Webgizmo, yes. At least I think so... If JRiver have not added some strange components that can not be run in Win 8 RT? I don't think so.
It should work on all operating systems. That's the beauty of web pages. Downside is speed and responsiveness.
