Title: Hardware to receive signal and pass via SPDIF to DAC
Post by: OldCoder on September 22, 2012, 05:37:25 pm
I want to find a hardware player that will receive a signal via Ethernet and pass it to my DAC via an SPDIF cable.
This is to be a replacement for a Squeezebox Touch system.  I'd like it to be able to pass a 24/96 signal.

I have looked around the Internet, and find lots of things for TV, but nothing for plain old 2 channel audio.
I'd like to keep the price somewhat sane, preferably just a few hundred dollars.

Does JRiver know of such devices that work well with their software that you can recommend them?

you mean something like a 1st or 2d generation roku soundbridge.

they pop up on ebay from time to time.

I think Archos makes something these days too.
