I want to find a hardware player that will receive a signal via Ethernet and pass it to my DAC via an SPDIF cable.
This is to be a replacement for a Squeezebox Touch system. I'd like it to be able to pass a 24/96 signal.
I have looked around the Internet, and find lots of things for TV, but nothing for plain old 2 channel audio.
I'd like to keep the price somewhat sane, preferably just a few hundred dollars.
Does JRiver know of such devices that work well with their software that you can recommend them?

I am lokking for the same type of device so tha I can connect a music server to existing audio amplifiers located in oher rooms of my home. Perhaps a USB connection to between this network connection and the DAC?

you mean something like a 1st or 2d generation roku soundbridge.
they pop up on ebay from time to time.
I think Archos makes something these days too.
