Title: Uninstalling old version of MC

I want to remove MC16 as I have MC17 and soon will start preparing for MC18. Is there anything I need to be aware of before removing 16?

If you use any third party plugins, you may need to uninstall / reinstall those, and perhaps copy your skins directory from 16 to 17, skipping existing files, to keep any extra skins you may have downloaded over time. Apart from that, each version is pretty much self contained these days, you should be fine.
