When I start MC 18 the RAM usage goes straight up to max of 4g on my Intel I7 computer. The CPU usage is also jumping up to high levels. I have upgraded from MC 17 which didn't have this issue. The only other time I've seen this was with Foobar 2000 sacd plugin which caused memory leak in computer and that was fixed awhile back in an early revision. So, my question, Does anybody else have this issue with MC 18? Is there a setting I need to adjust?

Any chance you have expanded the Explorer view entirely?

Not sure what you mean by expanded explorer view. I'm using standard view. Anyway, I'll leave MC18 running for a couple days and see if RAM usage settles down. Something must be running in the background.

It may be building thumbnails. You can force it to finish in Tools/Options/Settings/Tree and View.
CPU usage can also be a virus checker checking every file that MC opens.

I haven't seen any kind of memory leak on my system. Just checked and my MC18 has been running for the past 5 days and and it's using a bit over 36MB while doing nothing; which is pretty usual on my system. PC is an old system I had lying around, nothing special at all (P4 3.2GHz with 3GB of ram).
