MC has trouble finding some albums on disk. The albums are already in the MC database, but a red cross is shown for all files in the album. The two albums where I encountered this had & in the file path. Other (flac and mp3) albums with & in the file path show up fine. Below are the file paths to the first track on the affected albums.
F:\MP3\Min musik\Artister\Kent\Du & jag döden (2005)\01 - 400 slag.flac
F:\MP3\Min musik\Artister\Kent\Vapen & ammunition (2002)\01 - Sundance Kid.flac
This is with build .54.

Somehow MC manages to save a "Folder.jpg" file in the album folder when pasting cover art without deleting/replacing an existing "folder.jpg" file (note the capitalization). I fear that this might lead to some confusion.

I would have said that was impossible on a Windows-based file system.
What file system are you using?

I would too.
I use a Synologi NAS DS211j to store the music files. (http://www.synology.com/us/products/DS211j/index.php (http://www.synology.com/us/products/DS211j/index.php))

I found these links

It is probably a firmware problem with the NAS:

Thanks! You are right:
Synology DiskStation DS211j Release Notes
Version: DSM 4.1-2647
(2012/10/02)
Change log:
Fixed an issue where the folder and file names were case-sensitive when you access them via Windows File Sharing.
I installed the update. The two missing albums were found and pasting cover art no longer produces duplicate folder.jpg files.

It happens now and then.

Indeed it does! I even think that the update improved an issue I was having with accessing the NAS with the Mac I just acquired in anticipation of the MC Mac version.
Anyone having any idea how to use MC to find all folder.jpg/Folder.jpg duplicates in the same folder?
EDIT: I found the solution. Paste this into the import/export section of a smartlist: [Media Type]=[Image] [Filename (name)]=[folder.jpg] ~dup=[Filename /(path/)]. The image files in the music folders must of course be imported into MC for this to work.
