Title: DLNA renderer naming
Post by: Jong on October 15, 2012, 10:52:34 am
Not sure if I am being stupid but I cannot work out how JRiver sets the network name for its DLNA renderer. There doesn't seem to be a setting for it unlike for the DLNA server. Renaming the MC player name seems to give a very longwinded "[server] [Playername]" on my MC17 instance but my MC18 instance seems just to use the name of my PC, as defined in Windows. I'm not sure if this is a difference between 17 and 18, or if I have missed some setting somewhere. Either way I don't really like either name! I'd like to be able to drop [server] and just name the DLNA device with [Playername]. Is there a way?

You can't change the name that the renderer presents to the network however you can change the way it displays in another instance of MC by right-clicking on it in playing now and do rename.
