After reading that CNet (Computer Shopper) article on the different media players I figured I'd give MusicMatch another try.
I've decided to switch.
-
Doof, you've got to be kidding. Somehow I can't take you seriously.

Hey, as long as you're making some changes, maybe you'd like to switch from the car you have to a crappy old Firebird...
-
I've tried them all and am happy to report that MJ 8 is the best out there (after it goes gold, that is).
-
Hi
I would no sooner opt for MusicMatch than Realplayer!
But I did find the comments on Media Jukebox a little worrying. Is there any evidence to suggest that it slows windows down? Like many, I have installed some pretty expensive kit to give optimum performance. Do I need to reach foor the ol' benchmarking software? Or, as I suspect the comment arise from someone who thinks that AGP 4x is a type of Autralian beer?

You guys are so gullible.

Besides, I'm sure they don't have nearly as cool a forum as we do here.
-
I tried it once......literally.
-
I tried it a couple of times. I could never figure out what I was supposed to do with it. So I moved on.
And that's how all of you got so lucky as to deal with me almost daily.
-
well i rate them as
1. MJ
2. Real
3. Music Match
but the Musicmatch radio part was good. you just can't have very many files. it took over 24 hours to scaning 10,000 files with music match. thats when i gave up on it since i found MJ that did the same thing in 15 mins.
-
MusicMatch does have great radio tho

My new Gateway Digital Music PC (2GHz) machine came with Musicmatch and a digital music book and some CD-Rs. I haven't looked at the book yet and I promptly removed the software and installed MJ 8. No need for musicmatch. I tried that a while back and it was very unstable, besides I really like MJ and this forum.

this is stable?

I used MusicMatch (Plus ) for a while but the latest version didn't work anymore with my Rio 500. It took 3 weeks of emailing with their support department-the usual stuff like uninstall and install again- before I got the message that they would work on it and that it might be fixed in the future.
Glad I switched to MediaJukebox, much better support through this forum and far more superior program, although I had and still have some problems.I am however sure that these will be fixed.

I love Mj... I would consdier switiching only to wonamp.. when I was having Beta problems with version 8 , i revisted Winamp and loved its simplicity. Ovbiously you cant do nearly as much but nothing beats the small footprints of winamp
-
King is right
If we speak about "mister average" jukebox,RealJukebox beats MusicMatch
I still use it for one or two things MediaJukebox does not
BUT I HATE MM
-
Doof, have you heard that they are going to remove the word gullible from the dictionary? It's now considered obsolete.
-
Doof,in this case you can use "credule" the french word for gullible
-
A couple of the above posts spoke of jukeboxes and stability. Please remember that when you try MusicMatch, that's a program that has gone through the beta steps but you weren't a part of it. Now you're playing with MJ in a beta form and of course it is not always stable on every platform. Come back when the commercial version of MJ8 is released and then make the comparisons.
I'm sure MJ ver 7.2 is quite stable. It was when I was using it.

MJ and freeamp have the best sound quality, blaze and musicmatch the worst. RJ and siren are in the middle somewhere. Didn't have winamp on my system long enough to tell where it stands. On the other hand, maybe they all sound exactly alike and my determination of sound quality was based upon my mood at that given moment. Haven't been in the mood to give up MJ in quite some time though.

Oh, sound quality is my number one consideration in choosing a jukebox program. That it not be anything like winamp is second.

I feel that 8 sounds better than 7.Do you think so,or i have kind of aural hallucination?
FreeAmp number 2.Number 3 is far away from the 2 first

with FreeAmp-sorry but with MJ,you do not get artist name and song name for each song
