Title: Media Server Automatic Update Question

If media server is running, does the library automatically update or do I have to run the user software in order to get the library to update?

If the media folders are watched (auto-import, which isn't working for you) then your library should automatically update. Remote connected clients however do not immediately pick up the changes and I find myself disconnecting/reconnecting to the server to see the updates.
