Title: Recording Internet Radio
Post by: Z0001 on October 24, 2012, 01:56:31 pm
Is it possible to set a record schedule for streaming Internet radio? If so can the recording be done in the background or with MC not open?

Yes, you just have to know the url of the station. MC can be closed by the media server has to be on.

I schedule 4 differents stations every day, some overlapping and never had an issue.

Excellent! Will have look tonight.  Any pointers as to where I go to set the timer schedule?

On a related note, I'm already using scheduler to record a couple of streams, then do some renaming of those streams (appending a datestamp and moving to a different folder).  Is there anyway (short of some commandline tagging utility) to set the ID3 tags of the recordings either at the time of record or afterward?

Scheduler doesn't have any ability to tag the recordings.  The only info you can pass is what you place in the Name field (folder path and file).

After the recording is completed, the file is just an audio file in the MC library.  And you can tag away as you please, but it is manual.

That's what I suspected... didn't see any options for tagging or filename variables (hence the post-recording cmdline rename).

Thanks for the info.
