Title: Suggestion: Group column
Post by: MrC on October 27, 2012, 01:00:34 pm
I'd like to propose a new feature - a Group column in a file list, which when added to a file list, replaces the Group header for a more condensed file list display.  (Directory Opus just added this in a new beta feature, and its great).

The attached image shows the idea. Note the new Group column.

Some thoughts:

  - The thumbnail should be optional (possible column choices: Group, Group w/Thumbnail).
  - Text should flow as the column width is changed.
  - When the Group column is not present, the current Group header is used.

Thoughts?

looks like it has the potential to save space, in the same sense that the search bar in options was moved.
What about the text should it have access to html styles? Just like the thumbnail text.
I think the ability to make certain fields link-able would be nice, so you could click on artist, publisher etc and quickly expand to them.

Style Windows Media Player. I like the idea. It's beautiful. It's practical.

I wait this feature. I dream of this feature, but I do not believe that will be added.
