F. Y. I. During Setup of Windows 8 (and Pro), Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant will list Media Center 17 as 'compatible', which is not exactly correct. After I upgraded to Win8, it was necessary to reinstall MC 17. I did not remove the previous MC 17 installed under Windows 7 because I did not want to loose my library. Install was very quick and I've encountered no problems so far.

I *have* encountered a problem : Media Center installs a shell extension which makes jumplists in explorer taskbar inactive.
Some links in control panel have stopped working also
The solution (for me) was to disable that extension using ShellExView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) fom Nirsoft (http://www.nirsoft.net/)
