Title: About these new Windows 8 tablets with docking stations...
Post by: GermaninLondon on October 29, 2012, 05:43:45 pm
Hello

...would they make a good laptop for high-performance audio? I like the idea of having a Windows 8 (not RT) touch tablet, which I could put into a docking station, the latter fitted with a few USB sockets to connect an external HDD for the media files and the external DAC. For a start they would be silent... Touch would also be nice even though I haven't tried the Theater View Touch version yet. Would the signal streaming to the DAC be in any way compromised compared to that coming from, say, a normal laptop because of the connection between tablet and docking station?

Thanks a lot for any view on this.
