Hello
I have J.river 17. if I want to convert a CD to flac, what is the best setting between 1 and 8.

1 means the flac encoder shouldn't try very hard or long to compress the data.  8 means it works very hard, making for longer encodes.  The disk space savings is small.  Test which one works best for you, but most people just leave the default.
