Title: Theaterview Sorting
Post by: kensn on November 02, 2012, 10:45:12 am
so I have a little problem...

A simple theaterview view:

Artist (grouped by 1)
Artist
Album

Rules: Audio, Single Artist Album
Sort by: Date (a-z)

Works great but..

If there is a multiple Disc album the sorting is weird:

Foo Album - Disc 2
Foo Album - Disc 1
Foo Album - Disc 3

Making a standard view with same rules works as expected:

Foo Album - Disc 1
Foo Album - Disc 2
Foo Album - Disc 3

I even imported the standard view into theaterview and the sorting was off, as above.

Thoughts??

You just throw in the Disc # for sorting. Put it in between Artist and the Track # tags, and it will sort on Artist first, then Disk number, and last the track number.
you'll have to do this for every view you have problems with. In the theater view options of-course.

Thanks, but.. ;)

I am trying to get the Albums in chronological order.

Lets make sure we are on the same page here. I am working on the Album level, not the file level. Unless I am missing something here.

So in the Details View I have:

Artist (group by 1)
Artist
Album (Sorting: Date oldest first)

In Order but sort messed up.

If I add items to the Rules sorting it does not seem to affect the album level view.

I must be missing something...

Ooook. I'm not quite sure about that. I thought about the file level, yes :)

Yes.. really strange, as I said the Panes view with exact same rules displays fine. I have tried everything i can think of...
