Title: A/V Sync 200ms With Asus Xonar D2X PCIe, is this normal
Post by: BayensF on November 08, 2012, 11:28:03 am
Hi,

I have to set my A/V Sync to 200ms to have audio and video synchronized. Is this normal. I am using AMD E350 platform. In the past I had Juli@ on PCI and that worked without sync setting.

The change was needed because I removed the crossover from my stereo speakers and use now the digital crossover (PEQ) in MC. So 6 channels out of MC to a 6 ch AMP. Works great  :)except the 200ms A/V sync  :oand 30ms latency in ASIO to prevent pops and clicks. ?

Any ideas? ?

It's not uncommon for a TV or projector to add 100 or 200ms of lag.

Could that explain what you're seeing?

Matt,

Yes it's not uncommon when playing to TV like I do, only strange thing is that this was not the case with PCI and using Juli@.

For sure it's not related to MC 18, I had the same with MC 17......I had hoped it improved with the new version.

You might uncheck 'Use large hardware buffers' in the ASIO configuration of Media Center.

And then manually configure the hardware buffer size to the smallest that plays without hiccups.

Matt,

You made my day, unchecked "use large hardware buffers", solved it. I am back on "0" delay even when playing HD files.

Thanks!
