Title: Merging 2 library Folders into 1 without losing import date
Post by: rael71 on November 10, 2012, 11:58:24 am
Hello,

I've 2 folders in different hard disk for my library (g:/music, D:/music) but now I have to move and merge this folders into a one inside a bigger hard disk.

I'd like to know if there's a way to merge the folders without losing import date so that my recent albums will remain the same;
For the first folder there's no problem because I've already copied g:/music into the new hard disk and changed the letter of this hard disk so that the folder is still g:music.
Now I don't know how to copy D:/music into that one without losing import date!
Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance and bye

Andrea

If the only thing that will change is the drive letter, it's simple... Move the files over to the g: drive. In MC, select all the files (doesn't matter if you select the files that wasn't moved) Right-click > Library Tools > Rename, Move, & Copy...

In the new window, select "Update database to point to new location (no file rename, move, or copy)" in the upper left drop-down box. Check the "Find & Replace" box and un-check the others. In the "Find what" field type "D:\" and in the "Replace with" field type "G:\". Without quotes. Check the preview area. Press "OK".
