Title: Audio playback error.
Post by: manc on November 11, 2012, 02:50:10 pm
Hi,

When ever I choose not to use bitstreaming I always get the error 'playback could not be started using the format: 48khz 16bit 6ch' but choosing '48khz 24bit 2ch' works but in 2ch's I guess. I mostly use my htpc for watching downloaded tvshows which for the most part have 5.1 gathered within them.

The soundcard in my htpc is a Realtek ALC992 which is connected via a HDMI cable to a Onkyo HTX-22HDX receiver with 5.1 speakers setup.

The attached pic's show supported audio & audio output options.

Am I right in thinking that my soundcard cannot output 48khz 16bit 6ch and I need to upgrade?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
ManC

You can use MC's DSP Studio/Output Settings to convert to whatever your device supports.
