Title: Converting SACD to APE crashes. SACD to Flac fails.
Post by: psam on November 13, 2012, 02:03:51 pm
I have tried to convert three different SACD .iso images to other formats and only .wav worked.

Trying FLAC resulted in a super fast (1 second) conversion, but looking at the Details screen showed "Failed" beside every track.

Trying APE simply crashed MC18.

I can convert flawlessly from wav or wv to flac and ape. It is just SACD .iso files s giving me a headache.

WAV seems to work ,but the files are of unbelievable size.

Any hidden settings somewhere?

DSD (the data used on SACD) is fundamentally different than PCM.

Conversion from DSD to PCM for anything other than playback is not currently supported.

I see. Can I convert to DSD,and then from DSD to FLAC?
Would that work?
