Hi,
I am a new user and badly need help. I have had media center 17 on my computer for audio use only for several months. When I modified a file in Photoshop CS3 today and tried to save it it would not allow me to save and said "could not save because of program error". When I went to the Photoshop files saved in my photoshop directory the file had been saved as a media center file. When I double clicked it it would not open.
Please someone, tell me what to do to keep MC 17 from interacting with any of my photo files or programs. I want to use it only for audio purposes.
I am trying to do a complex photo restoration for a relative who is arriving tomorrow and desperately need to be able to use CS3. When I go to the MC 17 photo tab, it has the 68 thousand photos in my photoshop directory, without the folders that arrange them, I need to get them back where they belong and get MC 17 to not interface in any way with CS3. Please help, I am at a standstill until I can get MC17 to stop Hijacking Photoshop files.

The subject is called "File associations". You could use Google to find out more.
In MC, you can change the file associations under Tools/Options/Filetypes.
In Photoshop, you should be able to set the association.

Also, a file association should not interfere with a program saving a file.
Short of MC having the file in use (keeping it locked) and PS trying to overwrite it, I can't think of any reason for MC to interfere with PS saving a file.
Did you try saving in another format or different filename or a different location?
