Title: Sync to Windows Phone 8 Supported?
Post by: trionfare on November 17, 2012, 04:33:13 pm
I'm trying to sync music to my WP Nokia Lumia 920 (which btw is a great phone)

Any idea how to do this?/ When this will be supported?
I'm on Win7 JRMC16 and the phone is not showing up under devices in the left-hand menu.

Thanks for any guidance.

You could try MC17 or MC18.  Both use Microsoft Transport Protocol.  I would expect that to work, but we haven't seen many Windows phones yet.  Please let us know what you find.

I am using MC 18 and it works fine with my Lumia 920.  It shows up as a device and just sent you music to it.  BTW it is a great phone..

Snap! it works. Thanks gents.

Additionally how if at all are you controlling JRiver remotely? I tried webgizmo but there seem to be a few issues - for instance when I choose to play an album to the phone it only plays one song.

Check the third party plugins and apps forum. There's at least one remote control app for Win phone. Created by Paulsinnema. I do not know how well it works though. Or if it's compatible with Win8 yet...

I can confirm that this works just fine, but might it be possible to get Podcasts to be synced to the Podcast directory? In the options for device sync it gives an option for where to put audio, pictures and video, but not podcasts, even though it gives you the option of syncing podcasts separately to music. Or does this deserve its own thread?

Thanks
