Suddenly nothing happens when I double click on a program or a channel in the Television tab. No error message, just nothing. Same thing from the TV Guide in Theater View. However, I can still record any program. And recorded programs play just fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Under Drives & Devices - Television - TV Options.., check the show status... That will tell you what your tuners are doing. I have seen this same behavior when all my tuners are busy.
It may lead you to the problem.

Thanks, but whatever I do, all tuners just show "State: Idle".

Send me (or attach it to a post of yours here, if it is not too large) a log file. yaobing at jriver dot com

Thanks Yaobing. Log file sent...

I notice that you are using Windows 8. Were you previously able to play TV in Windows 8 or did the trouble started when you started using Windows 8? We have heard some reported problems with MC on Window 8.

Did you have a look at the last logfile you asked me to send you?
-
No. I started looking at it on Wednesday but did not go far. I will work on it more tomorrow.

Don't worry about it. I had to restore a backup anyway because of other, more serious (but unrelated) problems with my library. Just FYI a backup from November 17 worked correctly. As I reported the problem on November 18 and I usually install new versions shortly after release, my TV problems could be related to version 18.0.77.

I am glad you sorted it out by restoring your library. I went ahead this morning to take a look of your library anyway. It does appear to be corrupt as MC can not retrieve the file name of either a channel or a program.

Yeah, you're probably right that there was something wrong with my library as I had lots of other problems. However I thought that a corrupt library meant that it wouldn't be able to load at all, which wasn't the case.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to look into this...
