Title: DSP Settings
Post by: deepsky4565 on November 24, 2012, 08:00:39 pm
Improvements that JRiver has committed to adding to v18 (hopefully coming soon):

The ability to save and load DSP and other playback settings, and apply them based on what you play.

I really need this feature, when might this be ready? When playing multichannel songs, my processor does not like 4.0,but will play when in a 5.1 format. but some 5.1 tracks do not play correctly when leaving this setting at 5.1 output, and I prefer 2.0 sent as 2.0. So I hope when 4.0 channel files try to play, would source number of channels switch to 5.1, then switch back for all other channel formats? Thanks.

Hi,

What is at the end your speaker setup? Stereo or do you have a 5.1 surround system installed. Concrete, do you use 2 or 6 speakers?

If you use only 2 you can work with PEQ to make sure the system always output a 2 channel signal by using the copy and add commands.

I actually have a 7.1 system, but have quite a few quad recordings. I like the stereo to surround in my processor, so I want to keep stereo output as 2.0.

For this to work automatically in the future you will need to add a separate zone. You might as well add one now and switch manually. In Playing Now, add a zone called Stereo and specify in the DSP that it only output as stereo. Use this zone for stereo output and the other zone (you can rename it) for 7.1 output.
