Title: PS3 skin or theatre view?
Post by: devtech8 on November 25, 2012, 03:32:14 am
If I am using PS3 to browse my media and act as the playing device for the TV, is there a way for me to use something besides the default viewer within the PS3? Maybe like using the theatre view and customizing? Thanks much.

Not that I know of.  The PS3 is using DLNA as is the Player (DLNA Renderer and Control Point) with MC being the DLNA Server so it has no control over how the PS3 GUI looks.

Or, what if I ran it through one of those Roku boxes, then could I use that? I really don't care to use the PS3, but it is what I can connect to for now.

Thanks much.

MC Server will support connections from:
- DLNA Clients (called a DLNA renderer) but you are stuck with how it presents the info and what formats it will or will not support
- A PC running a Copy of MC in Client mode (eg you then get stuff like Theaterview)
- Andriod Deivces using the Gizmo IF
