Title: Expressions: How hard would it be?

 . . . to implement a buffer of recently-entered MC expressions in tagging fields (I'm thinking of NAME in particular), so that recently-used expressions could be brought back (say with up-arrow and down-arrow or Ctrl-something keys), edited, and used again?  Like what many command shells provide?

Rationale (if not obvious):  I find myself using some expressions, or very slight modifications of them, frequently or repeatedly. I store some in an external editor, but this would be VERY handy, as would a key combination that would insert

=replace([name],

for further editing.
