I found the "Car Radio" playlist group annoying, so I wanted to remove it from the playlists.
I did that, and when I visit Playing Now, it appeared again.
So I think: "OK, let's move it to the bottom of the list, make it less obvious."
Then, I found out I could't do that either: somehow "Car Radio" playlist group must stay on the top.
Therefore, could you please do at least one of the following task:
- Allow users to hide/disable the Car Radio feature
- Allow users to hide the "Car Radio" playlist group
- Allow users to reorder the playlists
Any help is appreciated.

This, please.

I've yet to even try to move to 18 for my audio needs because of this 'feature'. I listen using 'cover view' and use zones to reconfigure my system according to the audio file type playing. This 50" wide bar of unusable, unnecessarily, unwelcome and unsightly buttons leaves me out of the loop for my 'much loved' primary audio player.
J River has always been careful about adding superfluous elements to the user interface, until the advent of the brand new 'car radio buttons, like the autos from the 50's had' became a 'must have' feature
It has been mentioned by the powers that be that this feature becoming an option is not really a consideration at this time. It's been a couple of months and I'm starting to believe it...
I've started the 'nearly impossible' process of looking for a replacement now that 17 has stopped being updated. I've even started to regret upgrading my license to 18.
Like J River has already pointed out...
You can't please everybody!

The 'Radio' and the 'Play Doctor' have been disliked by a number of us but it unfortunately is here to stay.
A shame to have this degrade such an otherwise excellent player but for now there is no alternative.
Can't change it, but don't have to like it.
I wish it would at least vanish while music is playing.

I would rather say JRiver has some special tradition in inventing, um, funny
GUI features and designs. Fortunately, many disappeared quietly or are hidden
cleverly now. And some have evolved over the years into something useful...

I agree. I have absolutely no use for the Car Radio folder and keep having to delete it. Here's the basic use-case for playlists:
I use MediaMonkey to manage all of my music and playlists. I'd like to get all of my playlists to appear directly under "Playlists" without having to navigate an extra level to "Imported Playlists". While having folders to group different types of playlists may be elegant from the software perspective, it's really annoying from the user perspective. I just want to have a flat listing of playlists (which I can "group" using a naming convention if I'd like). Everytime I make an update to MediaMonkey, my playlists are imported under the Imported Playlists folder and I have to delete existing playlists, move them from the Imported Playlists folder directly under Playlists, and then delete "Imported Playlists" and "Recently Imported" folders. While I can imagine the use-case for having folders under Playlists (though not including the Car Radio folder), it makes sense to me to make this be an option turnable on/off by the end-user.

Next build:
Changed: Made the 'Car Radio' feature optional in Options > General > Features.

Thanks. Any possibility of making the folder into which playlists are imported user-configurable (e.g. I'd like to import all of my playlists directly under Playlists rather than under an "Imported Playlists" folder)?

Thank you Matt!
This is much better now.
Question . . . is it at all possible to have this option be 'Zone Specific'?
. . . that would be ideal.

Thank you for superb service!

Thanks, I don't use the "Car Radio" and I'm glad to have the space back.
