I like to stream from JRMC18 via Netgear DGND3700 and their 5101 powerline extenders to a PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC. I am having trouble with dropouts. I think it may be a JR problem because when I use the PSA Music Manager I dont have this problem. When I run JR from my PC or JRemote I can watch the counter go to 5 or 6 sec and then go back to zero. This also happens in the middle and at the end of tracks. It just hangs. If I cick on next it sometimes works but most times the program freezes and i have to reboot everything. If I use JR as a server with the PSA app on my iPod its a bit better but not as good as the all PSA. Thing is, for a couple of reasons, I like JRiver the most. It is the same on JR 15,16 &17. I have tried no transcoding with no result. I have port forwarded 52199 on my router.
it drives me crazy..any advice much appreciated!

It's probably just a setting. Try a search here for PS Audio. Try their site for settings advice.
I assume you're using DLNA.

Thank JimH..I think I got it sorted. I need a good lesson in networking!

It might help someone else if you would post what you found.

To all of you who use JRiver as a DLNA server for a PSA Perfect Wave DAC. Use the PSA forum to get expert advice. I have found that getting Network Settings just right is very important. That includes setting the Bridge to a static ip address and making the gateway the same as your router. I know very little about networking but am slowly learning. It is important to have a stable & robust home network or else you get dropouts and cannot enjoy the music, which is what you want.
I prefer to use JRiver to control the DAC both from my pc & with JRemote on my iPod. I set my pc, DAC & ipod to reserved ip addresses on my router so the router does not change the ips. It is more stable that way. You need to set your Bridge page for static ip (even if it is in the DHCP pool of your router).I like to set JRiver to transcode on the fly (tools>options>media network>add or configure DLNA>always convert>uncompressed 24bit.
Best advice is dont be afraid to ask on the forums. Network must be Stable & Robust. When you get it right, stick to it. You will then be able to play your music till the cows come home.
Most important advice: Enjoy the Music!
