Title: Ripping in VBR - another question

Why is it that the same files I rip in VBR using EAC/LAME, configured at a "5" quality, are of a higher bitrate than the same files ripped in MJ/LAME, configured to copy at "high" quality?  For example, the same track ripped in EAC is 206 but is 188 ripped through MJ. Seems strange, considering they are using the same encoder.

EAC/LAME

Lame Version Number one maybe newer than the other, as of like last month MJ had the latest version Of Lame

EAC is using LAME v3.91, which I think is the current version. MJ is much faster and easier to use than EAC, it's just that I can't get as high a quality file from MJ. I was just wondering if it was something I was doing or if it's a limitation in MJ.  

As a newbie to MJ, I just have to say how much I appreciate this forum and all those who take the time to share their knoweledge of this most awesome product.

You can always use the custom command line in MJ and set the quality as high as you want. If I remember right, "-V0" is highest quality, "-V9" is smallest file size.
