Title: Default field values possible?
Post by: zxsix on December 03, 2012, 10:15:52 pm
For instance, when importing a file with Media Type=Audio...
would it be possible to pre-fill in Genre=Rock, Rating=0, and Fan=Bob

when importing a file with Media Type=Video and File Type=wmv pre-fill Media Subtype=Home Video and Genre=Something
when importing a file with Media Type=Video and File Type=mkv pre-fill Media Subtype=Movie and Genre=Something

Those are some ideas where it would be useful.
I know I can add custom fields that are a formula, but this needs to work with the built-in fields listed above due to compatibility with portable player.  It looks at Genre and no way to get it to look at a different custom Genre field.

Would auto-import tag rules work for you?

Hmmm... never used that before.  Are expressions allowed?    Will check it out tomorrow.

Yes, indeed.  Your needs seem pretty straightforward.  One rule per field.
