Title: DXVA (Hardware Acceleration) - any way to verify that it is "on" (being used) ?
Post by: Ancient_Audiophile on December 06, 2012, 12:54:24 pm
MPC-HC has an OSD indication when DXVA is being used - is there anything equivalent in MC18 ?

If I right-click on the screen, there is a list of filters, I am assuming that greyed-out means "no info dialog", and the only one not greyed-out is EVR which has statistics, but no DXVA indication.

Thanks.

Since some video files have characteristics that disqualify them from hardware acceleration, it would be helpful to be able to monitor if it is being used.

As far as I know, ever since LAV DXVA was incorporated into LAV Video, it's not been possible to tell when HA is enabled. You can try enabling and disabling HA in MC and tracking CPU use.

Someday we should add 'Video Path' like we have 'Audio Path' already.
