Paid $25 for and received receipt for MJ but it was never unlocked and I have not received .rrg file to save. Have tried all the suggested fixes with no results. Downloaded again and still doesn't work. Suspect firewall may have blocked transmission of key. Don't want to have to buy another license. Any more suggestions??

What version? If 8.0, exactly what build (8.0.xxx)?

is 7.2. went to restore site where purchase confirmation was sent but it now does not recognize e-mail address.

If you Have 7.2 and it was not unlocked then you were not charged

There is no restore for 7.2.

If not charged, why was I sent "authorization accepted", a receipt, and advised software unlocked? I'm confused. What happens if I purchase again but end up double charged?

If The receipt Said It Was Unlocked What makes you think it is not unlocked?
Are you getting another message?
Go to Help In MJ, Do you see a "BackUp License" option? Can You Use It?

Think it is locked because I cannot use media editor, media view, message says I have to buy upgrade. Have searched all computer and do not have .rrg file. Button to backup .rrg file is not activated.

JRiver Can Check To See If You Were Charged, During Business Hours Tomorrow If You Ask Them.
