Title: Public playlist
Post by: kfrank on December 08, 2012, 10:08:46 am
Is there anyway to create a public playlist that anyone can access using web gizmo through a browser, but that doesn't allow them access to the rest of my file?

Let's say I want to create an x-mas playlist to share with friends but I only want them to be able to access that playlist(nothing else) using webgizmo, is that possible?

Perhaps if we were just able to add a password to a playlist which could be different from the master password for all access then that might work well.

I never recieved any response to this, does that mean there is no solution? I have since upgraded to MC 18 and still have the sam question.

I think you might need to share a separate library to do that.

Thanks Jim,

Could you maybe outline the steps to do that?
my main concern is that someone else could listen to the songs in the playlist (using webgizmo) but that they do not have access to any of the control functions that are available in web gizmo...such controlling another "destination", I only want them to be able to choose "This location" so it plays in the browser and they can't control the playback of Media Center on my pc. I also want to disable access to anything but the playlists button in web gizmo so that is all they can do is listen to playlists I have created and not search my library or look through videos.

I appreciate any help/advice you can give.
