Title: Wasapi and asio in Windows 8?

Windows 8 -

Asio vs Wasapi.. Titanium Hd.

Using Asio my volume can be controlled with both the Windows mixer and Creative console launcher, I have both set at 100% and control my volume in JRiver using the Internal volume, is that bit perfect even though the windows mixer/creative console can still control the volume?

Or is it best to use Wasapi so the volume control is bypassed?

Also is it best to set Audio creation mode to 44,100 or just leave it at default 48000? I play mostly 320kbps mp3s and flacs @ 44,100.
