Title: Gizmo - Just so I am clear....
Post by: Vocalpoint on December 13, 2012, 01:48:35 pm
Our MC environment uses the Client-Server model - where my main workstation is the only computer running Media Server and four other "clients" connect to this computer for it's "served" library.

While testing Giz in the last few days - I quickly noticed that I cannot control/play content on any other computer EXCEPT the one running library server.

Example: I go into the studio and fire up MC - and Gizmo does not let me choose that computer to actually play anything. It starts playing back on my main workstation.

Q: Do I need to have Media Server running on any computer to be able to control it via Gizmo?

Appreciate any tips here.

Cheers!

Yes.  If you want to control the client, connect to it directly.  You'll run a server on each client (Options > Media Network).

It works well.  This is how I play music in my living room and dining room.
