Post by: Mr ChriZ on December 14, 2012, 04:22:57 am
Is anyone running any AMD gear at the moment with an APU?
Are they good enough for red october HD?

I just finished building myself a HTPC and used the A10-5800K processor. It works fine for Red October HD and SACD ISO's. It is the top end and seems to loaf along processing everything I've thrown at it.

I have an A8-3850 setup, which is borderline for RO HQ. I have managed to get it running smoothly after a few tweaks, but you can expect dropped frames with out of the box settings (especially interlaced content).
