Title: Realtek DTS UltraPC II with 2 speakers - Best config?
Post by: NoDigital on December 21, 2012, 07:35:20 am
At my desk I have a PC with Realtek HD sound and a two speaker config.   It offers UltraPC II (http://www.dts.com/professionals/sound-technologies/audio-processing/dts-surround-sensation.aspx) as a way of simulating surround sound.     Seems to work reasonably well but is a hassle because i have to keep modifying the audio config: 'DirectSound' with it enabled for movies or change to 'WASAPI' to listen to audio.

Two questions raised are:

*Any way to have the sound mode dependent on the type of playback (Video or audio)?

and

* Does anyone have a view on using plugins/vst getting a better (And more accurate) surround experience from two speakers?

Thanks
