Title: Removing phone functions from LG Optimus v?

I think it is the Optimus V, anyways.

Anyone done this?  I have an old virgin mobile fone that I would like to just use as an mp3 player.  I'd use airplane mode except I need the bluetooth.

Thoughts?  I don't think it is a problem to run it with the phone function.  I mean it doesn't have service but why have it connect at all.  Can't help the battery life.

If you took the SIM card out, I don't think it would try to connect.
