Title: Sort playlist
Post by: Marty3d on April 13, 2002, 06:23:19 am
Still no response about the sorting in MJ?
I really think it's cumbersome to be forced to re-arrange (you know, cick on name tab, click on album tab, click on artist tab) the different playlists everytime one switch a view (eg. go to playing now, sort in my own order -> go to media library -> go to playing now, again, sort in my own order...). Why not set the views as you want, and let MJ remember your settings automatically? It's easy to understand and use, instead of only being able to sort Media Library.
Some input please!

Another thing I thought about...the Top Hits Playlist. Wouldn't it be nice if this one was more generic? What I'm trying to say is that if one included the "number of times played" as an ordinary tab usable from playlists and smartlists, you can build your own top hits list. This also means that you can make a smartlist for songs never played! Cool ey? And if I'm right, it shouldn't be too hard to make since the data is stored in the database already!

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Well, that's my 2 cents, thanks for a superduper product!

Yes, KingSparta, the media library. But not the other lists, that's my main point... The Playing now is always re-sorted to sequence when you return to it...

I don't believe it's a bug. If you think about it, some people might want it shown in the playing order, not alphabetically.
Think of my idea like this:
In windows explorer, I usually list my files with detailed view. But in my folder with full albums, I want to see it in thumbnail view so I can see the cover arts (renamed them as folder.jgp, that way they fill the folder image). How irritating it would be to change them to thumbnail view everytime I should view that particular path!

well i guess that makes sence, so i guess they should not be sorted.

It's all about user choice I think. If you want to sort one list by size and another by genre for instance, shouldn't you be allowed?
