Title: can't play dvd

Haven't tried to play dvds for a while, now won't ( any) tried reboot, reinstall , default settings & changing red October setting ,change to & from bit streaming  .Either get Error message or black screen with title but won't play ,it has a status bar.

Final version MC17  Dell XPS i7 12ram 2g radon graphics  final version Windows 7 all updates, windows essentials

no idea    why but its working now ?
